Summary
The lactation consultant will educate and support women, families, healthcare professionals and the community on the importance of breastfeeding. Having specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding and human lactation, the Lactation Consultant will provide safe, competent and evidence-based care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a school of Professional Nursing. BSN preferred. Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina. Certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). Current BLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation. Current NRP or obtained within the first 6 months of hire.
